Hello everyone, This is one of my old videos. This was my 60th day learning Russian. You can see me struggle but still trying to make sentences with the basic words I knew. Sometimes I had something in mind but couldn't express it so I would just say several short sentences and wait for my teacher to ask questions so I could "steal" words from him. I would just repeat whatever vocab, he was usi...

It's awesome you studied at FuDan. I studied online at BeiDa, and I lived in China prior, for 10.5yrs. I noticed you speak Chinese with an accent, similar to how I do in SiChuanese. TaiWanese, SiChuanese, and ShangHainese often use the softer pronounciation in Mandarin... ie chang = cang; chi = ci. So, you already know most native speakers will get it right as to where you studied and lived in China, based on your overall Mandarin accent. It happens.

With regards to Italian vs Spanish, it's a lot in intonation and flow, similar to Tieng Viet and GuangDongWa (Vietnamese and Cantonese). As regards to Mandarin, overall good, though if you're going for Mandarin and not dialect, such as SiChuanese, etc... a bit more on the rough sounds of s vs sh vs x, including z and zh. One last note, as I speak Mandarin and SiChuanese, is to pause a bit more when speaking Chinese, unless fluent, so you master the tones and words better, least having to redo the classes. Overall though, good. With regards to speaking the languages, awesome. Personally, I don't speak that many languages, though I do understand, read, and listen to podcasts, but I did understand most of what you said without translation, and you are gifted. With speaking ability, you are right, it's good to travel to the locations of the languages. Personally, I prefer listening and watching, as I do a lot of language and culture research, and it is uncommon to find such individuals, aside from online, with such language skills. About FBI, they're in major need of linguists, not just "experts" that don't know the language, culture, etc... Cheers. Note: I went to school years ago to be a translator. Nonetheless, cheers. Awesome language skills.

All languages brilliant, Russian ---- definitely accented but i appreciate that you gave it a shot, most people avoid Slavic languages. Would be better without those cuts after every sentence, very distractive and unnatural.

A ver, fonéticamente es perfecta, va, eso creo. Porque cuando habló mi idioma, se entendió, pero no era muy fluido. Yo también quiero aprender muchos idiomas, estoy seguro de que si le meto garra, en un lustro, aprendo muchos idiomas, eso sí, fonéticamente, nada de gramática.

Before I decided to watch your video, I expected that you will give some really relevant advice how to learn languages. I mean, no offence, please. You are really cool and you are an example for everyone. You inspire people. However, your methods don't fit for everyone. Like for example, I am learning French now with the teacher and gonna start Spanish too. I am in nearly B2 level but I was in Paris 12 years ago, much before I decided to learn that language. It is said that it is a very good idea to learn a language when you go to that country. But some people can't afford that. So, what I wanted to say is that I expected that you will give a relevant advice how to learn foreign languages on your own without taking classes but also, without going somehwere (lack of budget). Anyway, you are inspiring!
